What Clients Say About Their Luxury Kimberley Cruise

"Very impressed with the responsiveness of all the team..."

Cruise Vessel: Le Laperouse | Travel date: August 2023

Quote mark open We were delighted with all the arrangements made by your organisation. In particular we were very impressed with the responsiveness of all the team. We wouldn’t hesitate to use you again or recommend you should we need the services of an agent for these other areas.

"The places we visited (were) extraordinarily interesting..."

Cruise Vessel: Coral Discoverer | Travel date: August 2022

Quote mark open We had an absolutely fantastic time and we have been recommending it to all. In fact, just this morning I was looking at some of our photos and reliving the experience.

Really nothing could be faulted. Our cabin was terrific, the places we visited extraordinarily interesting, the staff and educational components were very good, the food amazing, and great company. The staff and crew at all levels were great. The helicopter flight was thrilling too.

So we highly recommend the Coral Discoverer – thanks for all your wonderful assistance over recent years for actually getting us there. It was very special.

"Without doubt it is one of the best trips we have made..."

Cruise Vessel: Coral Discoverer | Testimonial date: July 2020

Quote mark openLuxury Kimberley Cruises put together the itinerary for our June cruise of the Kimberley area on board Coral Discoverer and their sister company, The Kimberley Collection had previously arranged our road trip along the Gibb River Road visiting various gorges, outback stations etc. in August 2015, so we were keen to explore the Kimberley region from Darwin to Broome by ship.

We have experienced river cruises in Europe, China, and Russia and prefer small passenger numbers of approx. 100 or so, and the limit of 72 passengers for the Coral Discoverer was perfect for us.

Our experience started with 6 days in Darwin, followed by the cruise from Darwin to Broome for 10 days, and then 5 days in Broome (Cable Beach). Without doubt it is one of the best trips we have made, with The Kimberley Collection attention to detail second to none.

The small cruise ship had first class facilities, with bar and meal services to suit all tastes. The ship also carries smaller craft which provided us with access up the various rivers and inlets, to falls and gorges and around the islands and reefs in the area.

Highlights of the cruise included the expert information and commentary provided by the crew and guides from the ship, and the ability to “explore” all the various features along this amazing coastline. We were able to see and experience The Horizontal Falls, Mitchell Falls, Montgomery Reef and other unique land forms together with wildlife, birds, crocodiles and various aboriginal art and historical places.

We were fortunate that our fellow passengers were generally made up of couples or foursomes and as a result everybody mixed in very well, which is somewhat not always the case when large groups of 30 or 40  are on the cruise ship and tend stick to their own group.

We would highly recommend this trip and cruise to anybody who wants to see and experience one of Australia’s most unique coastlines and landscapes.

"A sensational way to see parts of our own country that you just can’t get to any other way..."

Cruise Vessel: Kimberley Pearl | Testimonial date: July 2020

Quote mark openInitially we had no concerns about booking the Kimberley cruise since it came highly recommended by a trusted source! Of course, once Covid hit our concerns were whether it was even going to go ahead, whether the borders would open in time and whether we would be safe to travel. Luckily, the borders came down in time and our cruise date was confirmed. We were also a bit concerned that as it was the first trip of the season things might not be as organised as they should be.

Once we were there all such concerns disappeared. The Kimberley Pearl was impressive; the staff were amazing from the moment we were picked up from the hotel till the moment we arrived back. The crew on the boat were exceptional they were incredibly competent in every aspect, from knowing the waterways, the best spots for fishing, the history of the Kimberley area, the running of the boat and the food was amazing. We could not fault them.

The highlights for us were many and varied. The scenery was amazing, the clear blue of the water, the fishing was incredible, the hikes up to the swimming holes and being able to have a swim in them, dinner and bonfires on the beach. Montgomery Reef was incredible as were the Horizontal falls, but even more than that was the fact that we had the entire Kimberley to ourselves. Being the first boat out since Covid struck meant that we were lucky to have it all to ourselves.

The main benefits of the cruise were things like no jet lag being in the same time zone and only 2 hours to get to Broome. No phone coverage whilst out on the cruise meant you could really get away from it all, rest, relax and not worry about anything at home or work. The weather was sensational — beautiful one day perfect the next! The other benefit was that there were only 10 passengers, enough to make it interesting but few enough to really get to know, we have made some lovely new friends.

Would we recommend this cruise? Absolutely! We have already done so, and I am sure there will be a number of bookings as a result of our enthusiasm. Also the Kimberley Pearl crew made a short video from our trip with footage from the drone and their go pro cameras, we each received a copy of this and it is such a lovely keepsake and way to show others what it was like. We would recommend this cruise as it was a trip of a lifetime, a sensational way to see parts of our own country that you just can’t get to any other way. It was value for money, and everything included meant there were no nasty surprise costs at the end.

What more can I say, we absolutely loved it.

Special thanks too to the staff at Luxury Kimberley Cruises for their assistance in finding this fabulous cruise and keeping us updated as Covid changed things constantly.
